The school will start drug testing of students.
That was adopted Monday night at the October board meeting.
Under the policy, students would be tested at the start of the year then there would be random testing throughout the year.
High school principal Scott Bein said a failed test would not result in suspension for the student but would relieve them of the ability to participate in any school sponsored or extra-curricular activities.
There would be a $15 charge for the initial test but students would not be charged for random tests.
Been said other schools charge as much as $25.
In other business, the board adopted the resolution that calls for a school board election Feb. 14, 2017. The board seat currently held by James Williams will be coming up for a vote. That is a five year position.
The board members tabled a decision to hire a part time para-professional at the elementary school and employ Jenkins and Associates.
Also tabled was acceptance of the resignation of Sarah Rawls as school treasurer.
