The Henryetta high school band Knight Brigade took first place at the Oklahoma State University homecoming parade Saturday.
Competing in the small band division, the band earned 19 out of a possible 20 points according to the judges.
"We hit the notes perfectly and marched exactly right in the parade," said band director Alan montgomery. "Our kids wanted to show how well they could perform and they delivered."
The win was not without a cost Saturday. After a number of years and countless band trips, one of the tires on the band equipment trailer decided to go flat and the journey back to Henryetta. The tire was changed without incident adding another footnote to a positive weekend.
