The annual school board filing period will start Monday, Dec. 5 and run through Dec. 7.
Okmulgee County election board secretary Ashley Carnes said candidates can come to her office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each of the three days. The forms can also be downloaded from the State Election Board website.
At the same time, there are two Okmulgee city council positions that will be open.
Offices open and their length of terms include:
City of Okmulgee, Councilmember Ward 1 (3 year term)
City of Okmulgee, Councilmember Ward 2 (3 year term)
Beggs Public School District, Office No. 2 (5 year term)
Dewar Public School District, Office No. 2 (5 year term)
Dewar Public School District, Office No. 4 (unexpired 2 year term)
Henryetta Public School District, Office No. 2 (5 year term)
Morris Public School District, Office No. 2 (5 year term)
Okmulgee Public School District, Office No. 2 (5 year term)
Okmulgee Public School District, Office No. 5 (unexpired 3 year term)
Preston Public School District, Office No. 2 (5 year term)
Schulter Public School District, Office No. 2 (5 year term)
Twin Hills Public School District, Office No. 1 (3 year term)
Wilson Public School District, Office No. 2 (5 year term)
Green Country Technology Center School District, Office No. 5 (5 year term)
The election will be held Feb. 14. Any candidate who does not receive more than 50 percent of the total votes in that election will have their names on the run-off election, April 4.
