Florence Louise Elzy died Dec. 31, 2016 at the age of 72. She was born May 20, 1944 in Siloam Springs Ark. to Albert and Alice (Lighthill) Ward. She married Leon Elzy April 7, 1963 at the Assembly of God Church in Henryetta by Pastor Davis.
Flo graduated Gentry High School in 1962 and attended the Tulsa Business School. She retired from Central State where she took care of one client for 17 years, whom she considered part of the family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Daisy Blossom.
She is survived by her husband Leon Elzy of the home; four children: Janie Sanchez and husband Manuel of Seminole; Sandra Combs and husband Ricky of Kellyville; Leona Henderson of Bristow and Everett Elzy of Henryetta; six grandchildren: Amber Croteau and husband Billy of Wewoka; Sadie Steward of Elk City; Ricky Owen Blocker of Virginia Beach Virginia; Waylon Henderson of Tulsa; Corey Swayzer of Bristow; Randall Elzy of Henryetta; four great grandchildren: Kimberly Turley of Wewoka; Macie Steward of Elk City; Taylor Croteau of Wewoka and Abbie Steward of Elk City; sister: Cora Lee Garrett of Gentry, Ark.; brother: Jim Ward and wife Vergean of Springdale, Ark., as well as numerous nieces and nephews
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at the Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Harrison officiating. Interment will follow at the Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home.
