According to Okmulgee County election board secretary Ashley Carnes, three council positions will be open in Henryetta. They include the Ward 3 and Ward 4 spots as well as council member at large. All three are four-year terms.
Currently, Jana Dugan is the Ward 3 council member, Jennifer Clason was elected for Ward 4 and Ronnie Duke holds down the council member at large spot.Filing starts at 8 a.m. and will continue through 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8.
The election will be held April 4.
In Dewar, three council spots as well as the town clerk/treasurer’s position will be open. Those wards include Ward 2, Ward 4 and Ward 5. All positions are four-year terms.
Morris voters will have four positions open. Ward 1 has seat A, an unexpired three-year term as well as Ward 1 seat B for a four year term. Wards 2, 3 and 4 will be looking for candidates for seat B. All are four-year spaces.
Beggs will be seeking candidates for Mayor as well as council members for Ward 1 and 3.
Candidates may pick up Declaration of Candidacy forms from the Okmulgee County Election Board Office.
