April 8 is the date for the annual Henryetta Relay for Life. Set at Cameron Stadium, this year's Relay will start at 2 and run through midnight.
In addition to games, actives and refreshments, the event will include the annual Luminaria ceremony honoring those who have fallen to the disease. The Survivor's Lap will honor men, women and children who have battled against the disease.
Those bags willl be the center of attention at the special luminaria ceremony circling the football field, each glowing with a soft light. The names of family members and friends lost or battling cancer will be read as a hushed audience listens.
It will cap off a day of fund-raising and fun designed to provide money to fight cancer.
