Henryetta physical therapist Richard Jay Johns II was arrested Thursday morning on a complaint of soliciting a minor to perform lewd acts.
jay johnsJohns, 32, is the therapist at Physical Therapy Central was taken into custody by officers from Homeland Security and the Tulsa Sheriff’s office. He is alleged to have touched a minor girl inappropriately during a therapy session in 2017.
Homeland Security Investigations agents said the girl told them during a session Johns was alleged to have massaged under her panties. After that, he and the girl were said to have been in contact on social media,
Another girl said she was not touched inappropriately during a therapy session but he sent her a photo of himself on a couch in boxer shorts. The girl, who was 17 at the time, said she deleted him from her Snapchat account
That arrest came after the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation contacted Homeland Security in December.
Matthew Dunn, HSI special agent in charge out of Dallas, said two victims are included in the affidavit used to obtain the arrest warrant.
He said officers served a search warrant at his home in Glennpool.
Dunn said Johns had been a physical therapist for a “considerable number of years.”
He urged any other victims to come forward. “They can call their local police department or the Tulsa Sheriff’s office and reference this case.”
Dunn pointed out the dangers of smartphones and tablets and urged parents to monitor the use by their children. “This is truly a ‘Stranger Danger’ era,” he said.
“We hope the enforcement actions we take will show individuals there is no anonymous behavior. We want to show minors that something can happen if they come forward with information,” he added.
Homeland Security was called in because the allegations involved internet activity.
