Gary Lee Yandle, a lifelong resident of Henryetta, died March 8, 2017 in Oklahoma City at the age of 69. Gary was born April 14, 1947 in Henryetta to Ira Lee Yandle and Margaret (McCombs) Yandle. He grew up in Henryetta, attended Henryetta Public Schools, and graduated from Henryetta High School.
Following his high school years, Gary attended the University of Oklahoma in Norman for his collegiate studies. Gary was drafted into the U.S. Army where he faithfully served in the 404th Radio Research Detachment in Airborne operations. He served a tour of duty in Viet Nam and was later stationed in Japan. After his honorable discharge and approximately 4 1/2 years of military service, Gary returned home to Henryetta. He accepted a position with Ball Glass Corporation in Okmulgee as an electrician. He provided Ball Glass with approximately 20 years of continuous service before his retirement when the Ball facility closed. Gary married the love of his life, Joyce Marie Danner in Harrah, Oklahoma on October 26, 1974 and they remained happily married for 43 years until his death.
Gary was an entrepeneur and became happily involved in the antiques and collectibles business. He and his wife Joyce, owned and operated Star Collectibles in Okmulgee from 1986 - 1996. Gary was a member of the Disabled American Veterans organization and was a member of the First Christian Church of Henryetta.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father; three brothers, Buddy Lee Yandle, Randy Yandle, and David Yandle; and a nephew, Matthew Ertel.
Gary is survived by his wife, Joyce Yandle of the home; a son, Christopher Yandle and wife Jackie of Bixby; a daughter, Krystal Yandle of Norman; a brother, Roger Yandle of Grove; a sister, Tammy Huffman of Lawton; one grandchild, Sullivan Yandle of Bixby; five nieces and nephews and eight great nieces and nephews; by other extended family and many good friends.
The family has designated the First Christian Church of Henryetta, Oklahoma as appropriate for memorial contributions.
Viewing for Gary will be held Sunday, March 12, 2017 from 2 until 8 p.m. and Monday, March 13, 2017 from 8 a.m. until noon at Integrity Funeral Service in Henryetta.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 13, 2017 at Westlawn Cemetery with Rev. Jared Dumond officiating. Services have been entrusted to Integrity Funeral Service of Henryetta.
