The Eastern Oklahoma Family Health Center could be open in Henryetta as early as June, 2018.
That was the estimate given by EOFHC executive director Donna Dyer to the Henryetta Economic Development Authority this week.dyer at heda
Dyer said bids for the $1.5 million facility could be going out to contractors as early as this summer with the actual work to take some 12 months. “We have finished the environmental assessments and the architect is finishing up the construction documents,” she said. One hold up is ensuring the dimensions are correct for both X-ray and dental exam rooms.
“The process has been expensive,” Dyer told HEDA members. “We have spent $35,000 in attorney fees with the environmental costs.” Dyer asked HEDA members to consider helping with those costs to the tune of $15,000. “This is about half of the attorney fees.” Dyer explained the federal grant was for $1 million with EOFHC to pick up the tab for the rest of the project. “Pretty much the building will take the full $1 million.
When completed, the building will be about 7,600 square feet with a nearly 2,000 square foot parking lot. It will contain 12 examination rooms, one procedure room, three dental rooms and space for a behavioral health counselor.
“We will be adding people as we go.” She said additional personnel would be mid-level and support staff including nurses and front office personnel.the new facility at the Shurden-Liest industrial park will mean the medical office on Main and dental office on South Fifth streets will be vacated. “We are not sure what we will do with the current locations,” she said. Those buildings could be either put up for sale or lease.
Dyer has been trying to get the facility here for several years and finally got approval for the $1 million grant from Health Resources Services Administration last May.
