Dearrell Truman Stephens, a resident of Henryetta, died March 13, 2017 in Boise, Idaho at the age of 79. He was born July 6, 1937 in Henryetta to Henry Clay Stephens and Loy Iva (Pickle) Stephens. Dearrell grew up in Henryetta and attended Henryetta Public Schools, where he played on the varsity football team as a lineman. Dearrell was born and raised in the Nazarene Church in Henryetta.
Dearrell married his high school sweetheart, Norma McNeil in 1955. They remained married for approximately 25 years. Dearrell later moved to Idaho and married Lorain Smith in Lake Tahoe. He worked for the casinos in Las Vegas in several different capacities.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings.
Survivors include three sons: Dearrell Truman Stephens Jr., Aaron Kent Stephens and wife Kara of Arlington, Tex., Jeffery Karl Stephens of Henryetta; two daughters: Ruby Janette Jafari of Palm Springs, Calif., and Loretta Jean Demmitt of Henryetta; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; spouse, Lorain Stephens of Boise, Idaho; uncle, Doyle Pickle of Henryetta; the mother of his children, Norma McNeal of Henryetta; cousin, Butch Summers and Rita of Henryetta as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Henryetta, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service in Henryetta.
