March 29 is the deadline for Okmulgee County voters to get their absentee ballot applications filled out.
Ashley Carnes, county election board secretary, said the applications can be made as late as 5 p.m. March 29. She pointed out the election board will be mailing the ballots to the voter and those voted ballots must be returned by mail no later than 7 p.m. April 4 to be counted.
Any registered voter can use an absentee ballot but they must be registered and live at an address within the school district or city to be eligible to vote in either school or municipal elections.
Early voting for the April 4 municipal and school elections will be available at the county election board in Okmulgee from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 30 and 31.
The regular Tuesday, April 4 election day polls will open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.
Henryetta voters have three city council seats that will be on the ballot. They include:
Ward 3: Janna Duggan incumbent and challenger Ronald Lee
Ward 4: Jennifer Clason incumbent and challenger Buck Sheward
Council member at large: Bill Goodner, Phil Siberts and Robert Patterson
In Morris, voters will be choosing the winner for a city council seat and school board position.
The city council Ward 3 Seat B council seat. On the ballot will be Jeremy Avery and Kathy Stricker.
For the Office 2 school board post are candidates Rodney King and Dana Mims.
Beggs voters will be selecting a new mayor with Kathryn Bell and O.G. Thompson on the ballots.
Okmulgee school district voters will be choosing between Vickie Jones and Marcus Jeffrey for the Office 2 school board seat.
Candidates and their supports are reminded by Carnes that electioneering is not allowed within 300 feet of any ballot box. She siad it is also illegal to remove a ballot from the polling site.
