For the second month in 2017, sales tax receipts in Henryetta have dipped.
The March sales tax return was $188,453.91. That was $21,026 below the 2016 March return. In January, Henryetta’s sales tax check from the state amounted to $230,228, a drop of $3,000 from the previous January. The February return was only $2,216 above the previous year.
The March return is based on sales from Jan. 16 to Feb. 15.
Henryetta’s accounting is based on the July 1 to June 30 fiscal year. So far this fiscal year, the town has received $1,985,274 in sales tax monies.
That is an increase of $37,436 from the same eight months a year ago.
Dewar’s city treasury saw a check for $11,108.88 for March. That was a $700 gain over a year ago.
By contrast, Okmulgee pocketed $510,368 this year, up from The $464,772 in 2016.
