C. E. "Earl" Dickey a resident of the rural Henryetta and Wilson area died March 27, 2017 in Okmulgee at the age of 90. He was born Aug. 9, 1926 in Enterprise, Okla., to Truman Thomas "T.T." Dickey and Mary F. (Carter) Dickey. Earl served with the United States Army and married the "love of his life", Betty McElhannon June 24, 1944. Earl worked as a coal miner and later became manager of Montgomery Ward in Okmulgee and Midwest City before retiring. He also retired from Ball Brothers Glass Company in Okmulgee. Earl was a charter member of the Christian Assembly in Schulter.
He is preceded in death by his parents, T.T. and Mary Dickey, his wife Betty Dickey, a son, Charles Mac Dickey, three brothers, Wayne, Jack, and Merl Dickey.
He is survived by a daughter, Sue Moreland and husband Darrel of Wilson; three grandchildren: Darren Moreland of Muskogee; Kimberly Moreland of Oktaha and Rev. Shawn Moreland and wife Gia of Springfield, Missouri; several great grandchildren and extended family of the heart; brother, Carl Don Dickey and wife Donna of Eufaula; four sisters: Marie Porter and husband Frank of Henryetta, Louise Peters of Oklahoma City, Bernice Donathan of Henryetta and Wanda Dodge and husband Carlton of Dewar; also by a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
Viewing will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Integrity Funeral Service.
Pallbearers will be Charles Peters, Gerald Bardin, Darren Dickey, Tommy Dickey, Steve Dickey, and Paul Peters.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m., Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Integrity Chapel with Rev. Diane Twist and Rev. Phil Tally officiating. Interment will follow in Salt Creek Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
