Lucille Harwell was born April 14, 1918 to Zebualion B. Vance and El Nora Gattis Vance in the Prairie Bell area of Okmulgee County. She died April 21, 2017 in Chattanooga Tenn., at the age of 99.
She grew up in the Morris area and married Forrest Siegenthaler in 1937. This union produced three children Eddie, Linda, and Barbara.
After his death in 1954, Lucille married Glenn G Harwell. They had one child together, Jo Ella. After Glenn’s death she moved to Morris and then to Baptist Village in 2011. In March 2017 she moved to Chattanooga Tennessee with Jo Ella and family.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husbands, son Eddie, 3 brothers Cecil, Howard, and Everett, and one sister Esther Featherston.
She is survived by her three daughters: Linda Chambers of Morris, Barbara Gunter of Purcell and Jo Ella Harwell of Chattanooga; one sister Ruth Shelton of Morris; seven grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
Anyone who knew Lucille knew she enjoyed her many flowers and walking to town as she never had driver’s license. At Baptist Viewing will be Friday April 28 at Rogers Funeral Home in Henryetta from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Services will be held Saturday, April 29, 2 p.m. at First Christian Church, Morris, OK with Rev. (and cousin) Jack Vance officiating. Pallbearers will be grandchildren and great grandchildren.
