The Oklahoma Army National Guard welcomed home the first group of nearly 70 soldiers of Alpha Company, 777th Aviation Support Battalion, 90th Troop Command, after a yearlong deployment to the Middle East.
The 777th, stationed in Okmulgee, deployed last summer. While there, the unit provided aviation support, including aviation refueling operations, ammunition distribution, warehouse operations, water purification and transportation for the 77th Theatre Aviation Brigade (TAB) out of Arkansas.
A second group of 777th Soldiers are scheduled to return next week.
