A special awards ceremony was held Wednesday morning recognizing several Henryetta teachers who are retiring now that school has ended. The awards were made by superintendent Dwayne Noble on behalf of the school board.
LouAnn Smith was presented with a plaque recognizing her for 31 years of teaching at Henryetta schools.
Also receiving awards were Pamela Boatright, Jeana Price, Charla Wilkes, Tonya Wilkinson and Randy Witham.
At the same ceremony, the Henryetta Education Association honored Carolyn Lackey who is retiring after spending 41 years in Henryetta. He had retired before but returned to the classroom several years ago. The HEA awards were presented by association president Alan Montgomery.
