The ceremony was held at the Dewar First Baptist Church with over 400 people attending.
One of the highlights of the evening was recognition of long-time Dewar school supporter and alum Jimmie Pulliam.
The retired college professor graduated from Dewar in 1962 and had helped start the Dewar Public School Foundation.
“He was very dedicated to our school and will be missed,” said superintendent Todd Been. He presented a plaque honoring Pulliam to Richard Pulliam and Debbie Brice. That plaque will be on display at the school’s main office.
