Alexis Hill is this year’s recipient of the AEB Donald Wells Academic Scholarship and Internship. Hill joins Logan McGowin as the second American Exchange Bank intern in their program.

Hill is a 2017 graduate of Graham-Dustin High School and plans on attending Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology in the fall after completing the first round of her summer internship at AEB. Hill is the daughter of Sara and Ellis Hill and sister to Tina Downs, Alisha Jackson, and Cassidy Hill.
“Alexis has completed many computer certifications which will enhance our AEB team,” said AEB President Terri Thompson. “Look for her at our drive-in facility.”
McGowin is a May 2016 graduate from Dewar and currently attends OSU-IT. He recently received his second scholarship installment of $1,000 for the spring semester, along with the continuation of a paid internship, after meeting scholarship requirements.
“It’s a fun work environment, good pay, great coworkers and supervisors,” he said. “It’s just pretty much the best place ever.”
The AEB Donald Wells Academic Scholarship and Internship is awarded to one senior each year in the area. The scholarship includes $1,000 per semester for four years of college education as long as the student keeps a grade point average of 3.0 and is enrolled in at least 12 hours per semester with a preferred business degree path. Each recipient is required to work at AEB in the summer months as a paid intern in order to continue receiving the scholarship each semester.
“Without AEB, I would be struggling a lot to achieve my educational goals,” McGowin said.
AEB renamed its scholarship and internship this year to honor former bank President Donald Wells, who passed away from cancer in 2016.
