The fundraising effort for the Nichols Park Restoration Project got a major boost this week. Henryettan Bob Barnett dropped a $500 check into one of the containers at Rosie Lavon's marketplace. "This will go a long way toward improvements at Nichols Park," said project chair Vernon Britt. He pointed out the containers are located at a number of businesses throughout town and have been responsible for quite a few donations so far. "We appreciate everything that people have given. This proves how interested local people are in the park and want to see more improvements." Several fundraising projects are planned in the future, he added.
