For the fourth consecutive month, the Henryetta sales tax check is smaller than last year.
The June distribution of sales tax collections amounted to $199,277.08. That was a drop of $10,814.25 from a year ago.
Since March, the city has seen a decline of $73,114.74 in sales tax collections from the same four months in 2016.
That money represents sales from April 16 through May 15.
Dewar’s slice of the sales tax pie was also smaller in June than a year ago.
This month the state returned a check for $10,444.28. Last year Dewar’s city coffers picked up $12,117.95.
Okmulgee’s city check in June was $484,593.98, just $8,617.47 ahead of the 2016 distribution.
Okmulgee County’s share of the sales tax receipts in June amounted to $265,042.20. That was $17,617 below last year.
Statewide, $$137,995,252 was returned to cities and towns and was an increase of $8,482,216 from the $129,513,036 distributed to the cities and towns in June last year.
