James Vernon "Jimmy" Johnson, a resident of Tulsa, died July 6, 2017 in Tulsa at the age of 72. He was born Aug. 30, 1944 in Hartshorne to James T. Johnson and Norma Jean (VanMeter) Johnson.
Jimmy worked for 22 years at American Airlines. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Jean Johnson, one sister, Carolyn Sue Page and by his infant brother, James Thomas Johnson.
James is survived by his wife of nearly 53 years, Arline (Hickman) Johnson of the home; two daughters: S. Renee Hyght and husband Mark of Seguin, Tex., and Amy Barnes and husband Jeremy of Broken Arrow; James Robert Johnson and wife Kristy of Sperry; six grandchildren: Rachel Renee Yoder and husband Zack of Pryor, Hailee Renee Moshier of Owasso, Bethany Arline Johnson of Sperry, Lora Lynn Johnson of Sperry, James Michael Johnson of Broken Arrow, and Colton Wayne Barnes of Broken Arrow; sister, Norma Louise (Bootsie) Sullivan of Weleetka; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, July 9, 2017 at Integrity Funeral Service.
Pallbearers will be Mark Hyght, Jeremy Barnes, Michael Johnson, Zack Yoder, Jerry David Page, and Ron Sullivan. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rachel Renee Yoder, Hailee Renee Moshier, Bethany Arline Johnson, Lora Lynn Johnson, Lester Sullivan, James Page, Jason Page, John Page, and Colton Wayne Barnes.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 2 p.m., at Integrity Chapel in Henryetta with Rev. Darin Haddox, officiating and Rev. Steve Rhoads, assisting. Interment will follow at Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
