Elmer Lee (Butch) Burgess, a resident of the Wilson community, died July 6, 2017 in Wilson at the age of 76. He was born Dec. 7, 1940 in Tahlequah to Carranza C. Burgess and Lois Mae (Tedlock) Burgess.
Butch served in the US Army as a Sergeant. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, member of the Cattleman's Association,  Director at the Okmulgee County Conservation Board, past Chairman of the Board of Okmulgee County Rural Water District #1, a member of the Wilson Volunteer Fire Department Board as well as a volunteer fireman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carranza and Lois Burgess.
Elmer is survived by his wife Jane burgess of the home; one daughter, Dianna Price and husband Don of Wilson; grandchildren: Jason Lewis of Wilson, Amanda Six and husband Ben of Norman,
Ethan Price and wife Ashley of Dustin, and Chad Price of Wilson; great grandchildren: Hailey Lewis of Okemah, Lane Lewis of Okemah, Cliffy Lewis of Wilson, Stetson Price of Dustin, Dylan Cook, Damon Henry, and Molly Henry; sister, Wilma Wood and husband Ken of Houston, Tex.; nieces, Cindi Wood of Houston, and Sharon Wood and husband David Huffman of San Fransisco; sister-in-law, Gay Naslund of St. Louis, Missouri; brother-in-law, Al Blaylock and wife Betty of Granite City, Illinois, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family has expressed their wishes for donations to be made in honor of Butch to either the First Church of the Nazarene in Henryetta or the Wilson Volunteer Fire Department.
Viewing will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 8 and from 12 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 9, 2017 at Integrity Funeral Service.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Monday, July 10, 2017 at 10 a.m., at the First Church of the Nazarene in Henryetta with Rev. Tim Cole, officiating. Services are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
