BeWiseSave Celebrate LogoLearning to save for what a peson wants in life is a crucial life skill, but it’s one too few young people are learning. That’s why for Youth Appreciation Month in July, First Family FCU will focus on helping young people develop good saving habits. First Family FCU will host a savings challenge for the entire month, encouraging young people to save for something they care about and offering prizes of $200 and $100 for participating.
“The theme of the event is Give a Hoot About Saving,” said FFFCU marketing director Staci Alsover. “Owls represent wisdom, and nothing is wiser than learning to save for one’s future goals.”
In addition to the savings challenge, First Family FCU will offer financial education and fun events for youth. Like all credit unions, Alsover said, First Family FCU is a member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative.
“We will have Copper the Coin Dog on hand July 14 along with members of the Henryetta police and fire departments from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to celebrate Youth Month,” she added.
“Member education and concern for the community are part of the foundational principles of our business structure,” Alsover said. “Passing along a crucial life skill to the next generation to prepare them for a bright future embodies both those principles.”
