The City of Okmulgee, the Okmulgee Area Development Council, and Okmulgee Regional Airport announced today that the first ever air show to be held in Okmulgee will take place Sept. 30.
Okmulgee Airfest will begin at noon, and conclude at 2 p.m.
Gates open at 10 a.m., and admission is $5 per person, or $10 per carload or plane if attendees choose to fly-in. The air show will have twelve different acts, including skydivers, aerobatic performances, formation stunts, a flash-fire fuel truck, and the world's smallest jet. There will be food trucks, a KidsZone complete with inflatables and face painting, and helicopter rides.
"This air show has truly been a partnership between local organizations, businesses, and surrounding communities," said Bruce Force, Okmulgee Airport Advisory Board Member. "We have been working diligently for the past six months to ensure that this is a fun-filled family event that has something for everyone. Not only will this air show be an event for children and adults to enjoy, but we hope that it will spark interest in aviation for our future generations."
