Muriel “Fat Boy” Harjo Jr., a resident of Weleetka. died July 13, 2017 at the age of 64. He was born April 19, 1953 to Muriel and Marian (Lewis) Harjo Sr. Muriel was better known as “Fat Boy” and was an iron worker for 25 years. Working along his father, traveling throughout the States. He attended elementary school in Ft Worth, TX. After moving to Oklahoma he attended Graham School and later attended the Sequoyah Boarding School. He was a member of the High Springs Church and attended services at the Bryant Community Church.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents; Father Muriel Harjo; Brother David Harjo and step father Bill Haynes.
Survivors include a son: Mickey Harjo-Pugh of Moody, Ala.; mother: Marion Harjo of Henryetta; brothers: Bill Harjo of Henryetta and Gerald Harjo and wife Marti of Macon, GA; sisters: Beverly Chancey and husband Devin of Henryetta; nieces: Charlotte Starkey and husband Bart of Stigler, Misty Reece and husband Anthony of Richardson, Tex., and Mindy Johnson and husband Mark of Henryetta; two great nieces and  two great nephews, cousins and friends
Family will be receiving guests at the Rogers Funeral Home Chapel, Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, July 17, 2017 at the Bryant Community Church. Interment will follow at the Haynes Family Cemetery under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home.
