At a special Henryetta school board meeting Thursday morning, Monica Brown was hired to teach English in the middle school this coming year.
“When we have an applicant for an open position this late in the year, we have to act fast or else they will go somewhere else,” said superintendent Dwayne Noble.
Brown had taught at Hartshorne prior to taking the Henryetta position.
Board members accepted the resignation of Felicia McGowin Thursday morning. She had been the Henryetta eighth grade English teacher.
This was the second special board meeting this week. Tuesday morning, board members hired Dirk Walden as high school principal.
