Henryetta has some 12-year-old softball players that are among the best in the nation.
Madison Byroads, Hannah Padgett and Kasedi Gobin were members of the 12 and Under National softball team that placed second in the USSSA Futures All American fast pitch tournament this past week.

Friends and teammates in local softball competition, Katlyn Dwiggins and Jalynn Joslin were on the 13-and under Midwest National and American teams that came in third.
The tournament was held in Kissimmee, Florida and started with a pair of pool games then went into the championship brackets. To qualify, the girls went through a tryout process in Oklahoma City that got them into the two teams in each age division for each region. The Midwest Nationals and American teams consisted of 13 girls from Oklahoma and Texas.
Gobin, Dwiggins and Joslin had just come from another national tournament, this one held at Branson, Missouri where, as members of the Henryetta Heat, they placed second in the World Series.
That trio saw their team shut out the Northwest National team 12-0 in the opening championship bracket play.
That set the stage for an exciting quarter-finals contest with the Far West National team. The girls were tied 3-3 at the end of the allotted time. The Midwest team was batting last and, with bases loaded and one out, a single to right center field game them a 4-3 win.
The semi-finals game also had fans on the edge of their seats. The Midwest team was playing an undefeated Southeast American team and it turned into another tie-breaker after a 3-3 end to regulation time.

This time the Midwest girls were first at the plate and scored three runs. The Southeast girls could only pick up two runs clearing the way for a shot at the national title.
Luck was not to stay with the Midwest girls as the Southeast National team racked up eight runs for an 8-1 victory.
In the 13 and under tournament, Dwiggins’ team, the Midwest Nationals, won 6-5 in their opening game then blanked the Far West National girls 3-0 to go to the semi-finals. They ran into a scoring duel against the Atlantic American team that saw the Midwest girls on the wrong side of a 12-7 score.

While that was going on, Joslin’s Midwest American team blanked their opening opponent 10-0 then came out ahead 7-3 against the Central American team. That pitted them against the Atlantic National girls, losing 11-0. Atlantic National would go on to win the 13 and under championship.
