During that time, the cowboys have been the center of attention but this year the Henryetta Chamber of Commerce wants to honor the women who have helped build the sport.
“If anyone has information on an accomplished rodeo cowgirl from the Henryetta area please email (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) a brief bio of accomplishments and include an action picture,” said chamber executive director Roy Madden.
The poster advertising the rodeo this year reflects the contribution women have made to rodeo. It is taken from the cover from the 1942 Houston fat stock show and rodeo.
This year the rodeo will be held Saturday, Sept. 2 and Sunday, Sept. 3 starting at 8 each evening.
Madden said advance tickets are now on sale at Hiatt Window and Glass, Jiffy Mart, Paul's Western Store and Coalton Shavings and Feed.
