Dovie Letruss (Brasher) Coleman, a longtime resident of Henryetta, died Aug. 26, 2017 in Henryetta at the age of 94. Letruss was born Dec. 4, 1922
to Otto Brasher and Olive Whitworth Brasher.
She moved to Oklahoma from Missouri with her family as a young girl. She attended school in the Henryetta area. She met and married the love of her life, Harold Coleman on October 11, 1941. Shortly after their marriage, Harold left to serve in the military and Letruss moved to San Fransisco where she worked as a welder during the war. She remained happily married to Harold for 39 years until Harold's death in 1980. Letruss was a longtime member of the First Christian Church of Henryetta.
Letruss is preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband, Harold Coleman who died in 1980; two daughters, Carol Coleman and Nancy Orms; a son-in-law, Robert Orms; grandsons, Brett Money and Scott Money; by two brothers, William Truman Brasher and Rube Milo Brasher; and by two sisters, Mary Ellen Pruitt and Clemmie Brown.
She is survived by four granddaughters: Heather Orms of Henryetta, Lauri Hall and husband Lonnie of Henryetta, Lisa Powell and husband Albert of Checotah, and Tammy Money of Henryetta; seven great grandchildren: Audrey Powell, Logan Hall, Lainey Hall, Kimberly Mustin, Amos Martin, Chase Martin, and Shane Price; several great great grandchildren; a niece, Diana Bowe; a nephew, Roger Pruitt; and numerous other extended family and many good friends.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at the First Christian Church at a later date.
Services are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service of Henryetta.
