The Henryetta Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 539 lease for the former county health department building was officially approved Tuesday night.
Meeting at the regular September time, the city council approved a five year lease on the building for $1 per year.
VFW members will be moving into the new location during the coming weeks. They will be leaving a 40-year-old building that is in serious need of maintenance and too large for their current needs.
Councilman and VFW post commander Bill Goodner, said approval for the location change still needs to be given by both state and national VFW offices. He did not expect any problems with that approval.
The VFW will be carrying a $2 million liability insurance policy and will use the facility only for meetings and social events.
