Yessir, that is a list of things that allegedly will disappear in our lifetime - OK! maybe your lifetime as I am really… nevermind! This list recently came from a friend and, as some of you did, I said “”Yeah, right. I have seen those kind of things before” (Yawn, sigh) But since i am well acquainted with the sender and am naturally curious, I immediately opened it and, Mr. B., I thank you for it as I (also) immediately knew I had to tell you all. Whoever compiled, most likely a man, that list is spot on about most of it but I would question an item or two. I know it is hard for those of you who are personally acquainted with me to even think I would question something coming in over the internet but I did.

My take on this is that the post office is probably on the way out. Our wonderful legislators have passed so many restrictions on the P.O. that they have insured its demise. Congress wants to have its friends own a private mail delivery, according to many in D.C., so they have passed a law that is so complicated very few people agree on what it does. However, to quote CNBC who did a study, “The new law requires the Postal Service to pre-fund its benefit obligations. Some people have even claimed that law has the effect of requiring the postal service to fund retirement obligations for people who are not yet employed by the USPS--potential future employees.”
So, quoting another source, “Be prepared to pay for mail service to the friends of Congresspersons who will be making a great deal of money, your money.” What do you think?

Yessir, the hard copy newspaper may be on its way out - or close to it. This and the BOOK make me want to cry. I love to sit down with a cuppa and hold the paper I am reading. That can NOT be duplicated online. Besides, if you are holding a book or newspaper in your hands and verbally agree or disagree with something, others will know you are speaking to the writer of that piece. However, if you speak to your computer in a public place, people will quietly move away (quickly) and hope your handlers are near.

My belief is that those scam telephone calls we recently discussed are killing the land line phone even quicker than normal. I was in a conversation with two others who recently had dropped their land line. Both said it was partly, or mostly, because of the Robo calls. I have started using my whistle and it is working.

I kinda miss music disappearing. The compiler of this list has not listened to “Songs of the Mountains” evidently. The argument is, “It's the lack of innovative new music being given a chance to get to the people who would like to hear it. Greed and corruption is the problem.” Yessir, that is definitely a problem but people, real people are making real music in small venues all over our great country and other great countries. Music is as old as mankind and will be here as long as there is mankind.

Things you own is a complicated stretch of an answer looking for a problem. “He” is not speaking of physical things but internet things. Oh, and he includes books. (Booo!)
The compiler is mostly correct about cursive hand writing here in the USA. I would like to hear from some other countries as many countries also have a cursive style. He sites keyboards and computers. I say it is because we are allowing lazy to take over.

I will let the complier speak about #10. This is the most frightening of all to us who believe that George Orwell was correct in his writing.
Privacy If there ever was a concept that we can look back on nostalgically, it would be privacy. That's gone. It's been gone for a long time anyway.. There are cameras on the street, in most of the buildings, and even built into your computer and cell phone. But you can be sure that 24/7, "They" know who you are and where you are, right down to the GPS coordinates, and the Google Street View. If you buy something, your habit is put into a zillion profiles, and your ads will change to reflect those habits.. "They" will try to get you to buy something else. Again and again and again.
Now, I would really, really like to know what you think. This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
