Five Okmulgee voting locations are going to be closed down.
The five located at Uganda Martyrs Church, Dunbar Elementary School, First Church of the Nazarene, First Presbyterian Church and Okmulgee Eastside School, are being closed because of low voter turnout.
Okmulgee County election board secretary Ashley Carnes, said voters affected by the change will be receiving new voter ID cards in October. Those cards will show the new polling place and address.
She said the low turnout as well as difficulty in finding precinct officials to work resulted in the changes.
