health center

Dirt work has started on the Eastern Oklahoma Family Health Center to be located at the Shurden Leist industrial site.
Heavy equipment moved onto the site earlier this month but had to wait for the rain to stop before preparing the new facility.
It is anticipated to be open next year and will include a 7,600 square foot building with a 2,000 square foot parking lot.
When finished, there will be 12 examination rooms, one procedure room, three dental rooms and space for a behavioral health counselor.
Eastern Oklahoma Health currently operates out of two buildings, one a medical facility at 12th and Main and the other, a dental office on South Fifth Street. Staff from each of those facilities will be moving to the new building when it is completed.
A $1 million grant from the Health resources Services Administration is helping fund the project.
