It was just under 50 years ago when Henryettan Butch Glover pitched his last inning at the University of Charleston in West Virginia.
butchDuring his time on the mound, he posted a career record of 22 wins and 9 losses while tossing two no-hitters in his 4-year career and throwing 25 complete games.
That accomplishment was recognized earlier this month when Glover was inducted into the university Athletics Hall of Fame.
Glover, who retired from Anchor Glass in Henryetta, was honored at a special ceremony held as part of the 2017 University of Charleston Homecoming Oct. 6.
He graduated in 1974 as a two-time All-WVIAC performer in baseball as a pitcher for the Golden Eagles when the 129-year-old university was called Morris Harvey College. The name changed to the University of Charleston in 1978.
Other inductees into the Hall of Fame were Mike Curry for men's basketball, women’s volleyball champion Nicole LaFollette and Candace Swann for women’s track and field.
