Henryetta students are going to see the benefit of over $12,000 in grants from the Henryetta Education Foundation.
The 11 grants were awarded Wednesday afternoon in special presentations to the teachers in their classrooms.
Receiving the awards were Denae Green for “Rockets of HES”, Ashley Burton and Kelly James for “Stem Rocks”, Ginny Holder for “Individual Literacy Informational Access System,” August Smith for “Nonfiction Books”, Connie Adams Brooks for “We Love to be Scientists”, Laura Hood for “Science and STEM in Prek”, Angela Glover for “M.A.R.S./Math and Reading Success”, Andrea Spurlock for “STEMfinity and Beyond”, Lori Enis for “Reading Recovery”, Brenda Dodson and Debbie Wion for “Successful Reading Approach”, and Christle Wells and Kim Taylor for “Creative to Concrete: Incorporating STEM into the Art and English Classroom.”
The funds for the grants come from donations by Henryetta alums to the Education Foundation. That organization also provides annual scholarships to HHS graduates.
