A California woman died in a crash west of Okemah Monday afternoon due to a heart attack.
OHP Trooper Dion Wild said Sherry Robinson, 70, of Livermore, Calif., was eastbound on Interstate 40 around 5:30 Monday when she apparently went into cardiac arrest. Her car went off the roadway striking a tree. Both she and a passenger, George Robinson, 71, were pinned in the wreck for some 35 minutes.
She was pronounced dead at the Creek Hation Hospital in Okemah. Her husband was hospitalized in Oklahoma city in serious condition with numerous injuries to his head, leg and body.
