An Okemah teenager died in a car wreck on US 62 just west of the Pharoah Y around 10:30 Sunday morning.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the 15-year-old girl was a passenger in a 2013 Chevrolet driven by a 17 year-old Henryettan that was eastbound on the highway.
The vehicle went out of control and struck a bridge causing the entire vehicle to break apart. The roadway was closed for several hours while OHP Troopers completed their investigation.
The driver of the vehicle was treated and released from the Henryetta Medical Center.
Both teenagers were not identified by the OHP because of their age.
