Drivers going east on I-40 Thursday night found their journey halted for about half an hour.
A driver going eastbound lost control and his car slammed into a guardrail next to the center median.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the impact spun the vehicle around coming to rest in the middle of the bridge that spans the Lake Road blocking both eastbound lanes.
The driver was thrown from his car but only received minor injuries in the crash.
The roadway as blocked for nearly 45 minutes before the accident scene could be cleared.
OHP troopers are still investigating the cause of the crash.
