During the past few weeks a lot of work has been going on at Nichols Park.
Everything from new sand on the beach area to burning out underbrush is starting to make the park more user-friendly.
There are still some people who think the area should be a dumping ground and the Henryetta police department and city officials are taking a dim view of that.

Tuesday, a person was seen throwing off a load of household debris ranging from furniture to trash.
That person was followed to their home south of Henryetta and made to come back to the park and clean up the mess. They also received several citations and are facing some hefty fines.
City manager Ted Graham pointed out there is a specified area where people can drop off yard debris including their limbs and even trees.
"The area is not for trash and household garbage," he said.
Anyone found violating that restriction will be cited.
