The Knights will be sending tennis players to three of the four brackets at the state tournament this weekend.
Henryetta qualified in 1 singles and 1 and 2 doubles at the regionals held here Monday.
The 2 doubles team of Jarrett Day and Tyger Freeman placed second in a split match with Grove in the finals. They opened up with a 1,0 win over Victory Christian then 1,3 defeat against Wagoner. The Knights won their opening set but lost out in the second and the tie-breaker.
Grove’s team of Crawford and Rosiere were able to blank Okmulgee in the opener then lost the first set against Hatcher and Kretzschmar from Byng but lost the second before Byng had to forfeit the final because of an injury default.
The HHS 1 doubles team of Jordan Knox and Colton Wion blanked Seminole two straight sets but lost a split match with Byng in the semi finals. They shut out Okmulgee in the opening brackets to go into the third place match with Wagoner, taking a 2,1 victory.
Wrapping up the state entries for the Knights was Keaton Lollis. He lost 3,4,4 to Wagoner then downed Okmulgee and Seminole to go into the third place finals. two wins against Ayden Andrews from Beggs puts him on the state brackets.
The knights finished third in the overall point standings. First place regional champion was Grove followed by Byng.
The state tournament will be held at the OKC Tennis Center this Friday and Saturday.
