Henryetta has the third best under 14 softball team in the nation.
The Henryetta Heat placed third this weekend at the USSSA National Championships in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
Members of the Heat started out with a 6-4 win over the Atlanta, Georgia team then lost 3-1 to a team from Indianapolis. That threw them into the consolation side of the brackets but the Heat was not to be sent home.
They came back with a trio of wins July 20, scoring 14 runs while allowing only six to be scored against them by three teams.
The final day of the tournament Saturday saw the Heat win 3-1 against the Heartbreakers from Maryland but lose 5-0 to the Maryville Tennessee girls.
Making up the Heat team are Jalynn Joslin, Avery Miller, Skylar Smallwood, Alexis Hamilton, Katelyn Dwiggins, Skylar Morris, Lexi Lollis, Kasedi Gobin, Courtnee Sensibaugh and Haylee Anderson.
