Gaylord Frank Lackey, a former resident of Henryetta and longtime resident of Bethany, died July 28, 2018 in Oklahoma City at the age of 104. Gaylord was born Aug. 24, 1913 in Hitchita to Tom Lackey and Josephine Fuller Lackey.
Gaylord worked for Pittsburgh Plate Glass in Henryetta before he retired after many years of faithful service. At age 65, he later accepted a position with Dayton Tire in Oklahoma City, where he worked for many years as a MilWright/Welder before his retirement at age 90. Gaylord was a longtime member of the American Legion and was a member and former worshipful master in the Masonic Lodge. He received his 80 year pin from the Masonic Lodge and was believed to be the oldest living Mason in Oklahoma. Gaylord was preceded in death by his wife, Natella Lewis Lackey on February 1, 1993; his mother, Josephine Lackey; his father, Tom Lackey; his brother, George Hamilton; and a son-in-law, Darrel Warehime.
He is survived by his daughter, Gayle Warehime of Oklahoma City; three grandchildren: Christie McKeown and husband Kelly of Oklahoma City, Eric Warehime and wife Nicole of Oklahoma City, and Darla Bilderback and husband Brian of Austin, Texas; a sister, Louise Nicolson of Borger, Texas; and five great grandchildren: Kate McKeown, Aubrey Warehime, Erika Warehime, Blakely Bilderback, and Will Bilderback; and by other extended family and many good friends.
Viewing for Gaylord will be held Wednesday, August 1, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Integrity Funeral Service, 410 E. Trudgeon in Henryetta.
A funeral service is set for 10 a.m. Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Integrity Chapel in Henryetta with Rev. Wesley VanMeter officiating. Masonic honors will be provided at the service. Interment will follow immediately at Westlawn Cemetery with military honors provided by the US Army. Arrangements are entrusted to Integrity Funeral Service of Henryetta.
