Henryetta's annual Labor Day celebration always starts with the opening of the Great Plains Amusement Carnival.
The carnival will feature rides for all ages, carnival food, games and more.
Participants can enjoy all-access to every carnival ride through purchasing a, $25 wristband Thurs.-Sat. All other rides can be enjoyed by purchasing the correct number of tickets needed to ride. Ticket prices are $3 per ticket, $25 for nine tickets or $40 for 25 rides.
The carnival will be open the following hours:
Thursday 5 p.m.- 10 p.in.
Friday 6 p.m.-l 0 p.m.
Saturday 6 p.m.-l 0 p.m.
Sunday 1-5 p.m.
Labor Day 1-10 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 1 will see The Labor Day Gospel sing in the Alice Ghostley Auditorium at the Henryetta High School at 7 p.m. The concert will feature Nashville Recording Artists "Preacher and the Travelers," as well as the Williamsons, Southern Sonlight and Chris Hester.

Saturday and Sunday Sept. 1 and Sept. 2 the 25th annual Jim Shoulders Living Legends rodeo will take place Saturday and Sunday at the Jim Shoulders Living Legends Arena at historic Nichols Park, with performances beginning at 8 p.m. Pre-sale tickets are available at Jiffy Mart, Paul's Western Store, Hiatt Window & Glass and Coalton Shavings & Feed. Full price tickets will still be sold at the gate.

Sunday, Sept. 3 will have The Ronnie "Butch" Sullivan horseshoe contest on Trudgeon, east of Kennedy Lumber.
Registration will begin at 1 p.m, the tournament will start at 2 p.m. The horseshoe tournament has a $10 entry fee. First place will receive $200, second place gets $100 and third will receive $50 cash prizes. The tournament is presented by ERT Youth Ministries. It is a mixed doubles elimination open to men and women from 13 and up.

Labor Day, Sept. 3 Activities:
The fifth-annual Labor Day Car and Bike show will take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at First Family Federal Credit Union (FFFCU) located at 402 E. Main St. Judging divisions will include pre-1992 and post-1992. The entry fee is $20, and includes a t-shirt. Registration will take place at FFFCU from 8 to 11:30 a.m only. The annual Labor Day parade will take place Monday at 10 a.m. Those participating in the parade need to fill out entry forms available for download here: {phocadownload view=file|id=40|target=s} or at the Henryetta Free-Lance. Participants will line up at 10th and Broadway at 8 a.m:

After the parade, a BBQ lunch will take place at the Henryetta Civic Center located at 6th and Broadway. There will be a frog hopping contest, terrapin race and fish scramble held on Sixth Street between Main and Broadway.
Also at noon MOnday, the Henryetta Masonic Lodge will be the site for a luncheon that is a fundraiser for the recently-chartered DeMolay chapter. There will be hamburgers, chicken fried steaks, fries and drinks.

Games will take place at the Henryetta football field 12:45 p.m-3:45 p.m. and will include a softball toss (all ages), egg toss (all ages), rolling pin toss (women), brick throw (men), water balloon toss (all ages), Penny Hut (6 mo-5 yrs), wheel barrow race (men & women), pass & punt (5 yrs & up) and 3-legged race (5 yrs and up) .

Labor Day evening will see the baby crawling contest, fireworks from 6:30-10 p.m.
Band entertainment (Riders Ford), a baby crawling contest and trophy presentations (including parade float winners) will start at the football field at 6:30 p.m. Fireworks will begin after dark.
