The Henryetta FFA chapter has been awarded a $3,000 Yearlong Living to Serve Grant this week.

That program provides the funding to allow the Henryetta chapter address student hunger by filling backpacks full of nonperishable food items. Students will also receive hygienic products and seasonal items during the holiday months. The younger kids will also receive a free book in each bag. The drawstring backpacks will be passed out once a month and distributed to Henryetta students in need.
Henryetta FFA will begin collecting donations to fill the bags Oct. 1.
“We welcome anyone in the community who would like to help,” Dawson said. They can contact him at 918-652-6523 ext 7726 or at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
The Living to Serve nationwide program provides grant money to local FFA chapters to support yearlong service-learning projects that address needs related to community safety; environmental responsibility; hunger, health and nutrition; and community engagement.
