Henryetta’s sales tax continues to stay in the black.
For the tenth consecutive month and the ninth consecutive time for 2018, the monthly sales tax return is above the previous year’s numbers.
Henryetta received a $233,432.65 check from the state for September. That is $18,497.10 above last year and $8,500 above the 2016 numbers. It is the highest total ever received in any September.
That puts the total to date in sales tax receipts at $2016,286. The largest ever received in any calendar year in the past 13 years was in 2016 when the city totaled $2,688,779.
Just as the sales tax was up, so was the use tax return for the month. This year, the city received $20,508 compared with $12,390 last year.
Okmulgee received a whopping $533,690 compared with $491,180 last year for a $45,510 gain.
Dewar’s sales tax was down slightly, $10,737 this year compared with $11,424 last September.
Statewide, the disbursement of $154,069,373 in sales tax collections returned to the cities and towns reflected an increase of $8,370,818 from the $145,698,555 distributed to the cities and towns in September last year.
