A strong fall storm blew through the Henryetta area ripping down limbs and trees as well as briefly knocking out power Tuesday morning.
The storm only lasted a few minutes but left a trail of destruction that will take several days to recover.
In town, a number of limbs broke loose, one slamming down next to a house on South Seventh knocking out power to the home. The damage was restricted to the electrical lines going to the house.
A few blocks away, a decades-old majestic tree at Rotary Park was uprooted but missed the playground equipment. Two blocks from that on South Third, a tree snapped from its trunk and sprawled across the roadway.
On Main Street, motorists saw the warning arm at the railroad crossing on Main broken while another limb pulled down electrical lines just off Frisco Avenue.
The brief heavy downpour flooded some ditches but did not cause any flooding in the area.
Around the county, a roof on an RV was said to have ben blown off at Coalton.
The storm was said to have contributed to an injury accident on I-40 near mile maker 229 in Okfuskee County.
That accident happened when a westbound car apparently hydroplaned and struck a parked vehicle that was waiting for the storm to subside.
Three people in the two vehicles were treated for minor injuries while a fourth had to be taken to a Tulsa hospital for treatment of back injuries.
