Thursday, April 23 is going to be an important day in the lives of a lot of high school softball teams.
That's when most of the district softball contests will be getting underway.
Henryetta is going to be the host for one of those tournaments with Eufaula and Checotah coming to town. The Lady Knights are ranked second in the 5A list, trailing behind Sequoyah-Tahlequah.
Other area 5A district contests will include the Morris Lady Eagles going to Muldrow. On the brackets there is tenth-ranked Muldrow and unranked Keys. The Okmulgee Lady Bulldogs will be facing number 11 ranked Chandler and unrated Bristow.
In 4A, Okemah will be the host school for Liberty and Haskell. The lady Panthers are ranked seventh in their class.
The 2A Dewar Lady Dragons will be the host for Maud, Mason and Okay  while Weleetka will be traveling to Moss for their district. The Lady Outlaws will be playing Moss, New Lima and Strother.
In class A, Graham-Dustin and Schulter will make the trip to Buffalo Valley and the Wilson Lady Tigers will be going to Midway.
Regionals will be held the following week with everyone looking at the state championships in May.
