John Adrian Oliver, a former Henryettan, died Oct. 7, 2018 in Midwest City. He was born Jan. 20, 1936 in Dewar to Charles and Anna Oliver.
John grew up in Henryetta where he attended High School and was on the football team. He received a bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Oklahoma in 1960. His education was interrupted for two years while he served in the Army as a Specialist 4th Class, stationed in Germany. After receiving his degree he began his career as a Contracting Officer at Tinker Air Force Base where he worked for 32 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member of Lions Club from 1980 to present, where he held positions of vice president and treasurer through the years. He took a position of starter at John Conrad Gold Course after retiring.
He is survived by his wife, Deenie of Midwest City; children: Greg Oliver of Norman, Robyn Crowder of Midwest City, Eric Teter of Peculiar, MO; grandchildren: Lindsey Crowder of Edmond, Scott Crowder of Midwest City; sister, Rowena Williams of Oklahoma City; niece, Anna Marie Leslie of Oklahoma City; and great nephews, Dylan and Devon Leslie.
A memorial service to celebrate John's life will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, October 12, 2018 at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home Chapel in Midwest City.
