QuikTrip officials are trying to get an issue with a gas line settled before they start work on their store on East Main.
That was the word from mayor Jennifer Munholland Tuesday at the Henryetta Economic Development Authority meeting.
Munholland said a “huge” gas line runs down the back of the property and will either have to be relocated or adjustments made to the QuikTrip layout. She said the proposed store will be a “Gen3S” which would be the latest design by the Tulsa-based corporation.
She also addressed the Taco Bueno bankruptcy filing this past week. That filing by Sun Holdings will not have any effect on the Henryetta store. “It is doing better than some others,” she said describing a conversation with the Taco Bueno franchisee owner. “The restructuring will not affect us.”
HEDA members were told that a couple of motels are showing an interest in locating on the west side of Henryetta although she did not name them.
In other business, HEDA members re-elected Keith Estes as chairperson, Jill Francis as vice-chair and Roy Madden as secretary/treasurer.
The HEDA meeting was held Tuesday because Monday was a legal holiday.
