The shouting has just about died down and now another set of elections is ready to get voters’ interest.
Starting December 3, candidates for school boards across Okmulgee County as well as an at-large council seat will be filing their notices. The final filing date for both will be December 5.
The Okmulgee city election will be held Feb. 12 while the school board posts elections will be held April 2.
Other city council filings, including Henryetta, will be held from Feb. 4 to Feb. 6.
School board seats open include: Beggs School District Office No. 4, Dewar School District Office No. 4, Green Country Tech School District Office No. 2, Green Country Tech School District Office No. 5 (unexpired term), Henryetta School District Office No. 4, Morris School District Office No. 4, Okmulgee School District Office No. 4, Preston School District Office No. 4, Schulter School District Office No. 4, Schulter School District Office No. 3 (unexpired term), Twin Hills School District Office No. 3, Twin Hills School District Office No. 1 (unexpired term), Wilson Public School District Office No. 4
Candidates may pick up Declaration of Candidacy packets at the Okmulgee County Election Board office or can download a fillable version from the Oklahoma State Election Board https://www.ok.gov/elections/Candidate_Info
